What My Computer is?
My Computer is your central location for discovering everything that is stored on your computer. You can access drives and their contents, view information regarding the drives, storage media, folders and files.
Folders List
To access in XP, click the Folders button on the toolbar. Now you can see all your drives and folders in the Folders List on the left side of your screen.
To access in 98, go to the View Menu, click Explorer Bar, then Check the Folders option.
Search
Access the Search feature of XP by click the Search button on the toolbar.
Access the Find feature in 98 by right-clicking on the drive icon and clicking Find...
Address Bar
The Address Bar serves a two fold purpose. It allows you to see your location in My Computer and it allows you to navigate through My Computer. To navigate, either type in the full path to the location you want to view, or click on the drop down arrow and navigate as you would in an Open or Save As dialog box.
If the Address Bar doesn’t appear in My Computer retrieve it by following this process. On the Menu Bar click, Tools, then Options, then View tab, then Check the box beside “Display the full path in the address bar.”
How to Check Free Space / Used Space / Disk Capacity

Right-click the appropriate icon for the disk you wish to check

Click Properties from the Shortcut Menu

The information is found under the general tab, generally in this order: Used space, Free space, Capacity.
