Red Rice #1 (steamed or baked)

pasta/rice, potluck dinners/crowds
2 cups long-grain white rice
1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
3-1/2 cans water
1 medium onion; minced
2 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoon bacon drippings; (or oil)
3 teaspoon sugar
pepper (black); to taste
1 can (4 oz) mushroom; drained; (opt)
Mix all in a rice steamer. Cook for 1 hour stirring once.
(or replace the 3-1/2 cans of water, with 2 cups of water and bake in a covered casserole for 1 hour @ 350°F)
