1 pkg hot roll mix
1 cup parmesan; grated (divided)
1/2 lb ground beef
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
1 clove garlic; minced
1 can (16 oz) tomatoes; cut up
1 can (3 oz) tomato paste; 1/3 cup
1 can (4 oz) mushroom; drained
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon fennel seed; optional
2 cups mozzarella cheese; shredded, 8 oz

Hot roll mix is next to the flour, Jiffy cornbread mix, etc. In bowl, dissolve the yeast from the hot roll mix in 1 cup warm water. Stir in the mix and 1/2 cup of parmesan. Cover and let rest 10 minutes. With greased fingers pat dough onto bottom of a greased 15-1/2 x 10-1/2 x 1" pan. Bake 375°F for 20-25 minutes.

In skillet, cook beef, onion, pepper and garlic until beef is well browned. Drain excess grease. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, mushrooms, sugar, basil, organo, fennel, salt and pepper to taste. Spread over crust. Sprinkle with mozzarella and remaining parmesan. Bake @ 375°F for 20-25 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes, cut and serve.
