Creamed Dried Beef

1 each dried/smoked beef; 3-4oz pkg
2 tablespoon flour; plain
1/2 teaspoon worcestershire
2 tablespoon butter; or margarine
1 1/3 cup milk
1 single pepper; dash
Rinse beef to de-saltify. Shred beef and cook in skillet with butter three minutes or until edges begin to curl. Stir in the flour (subst: 1T Cornstartch); add the milk all at once. Cook and stir til thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 2 minutes more. Stir in worchestershire and pepper (to taste). Serve over unsalted rice or buttered toast points.
(opt: add a small can of mushrooms / peas (drained))
(or substitute 1 or 2 cans cream of mushroom diluted per directions)
