Green Bean Casserole #2

1 lb ground beef; optional
1 medium onion; chopped
2 cans french cut green beans; drained
1 can tomato soup; undiluted
Brown ground beef with onion and drain. Add 2 cans green beans that have been drained. Blend and heat through. Transfer to a 2 qt casserole. Top with mashed potatoes and cheese if desired.
Bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes. Can broil until cheese is browned if desired.
(Opt: mashed potatoes to cover 2" thick ~6 cups) (Opt: shredded cheese to cover ~1-1/2 cups) (Opt: add 1/2 can french fried onion to beans and 1/2 over top) ALL can be used together for a complete meal and/or the meat can be left out - still taste great.
