1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoon butter
1 large egg
2 tablespoon milk
4 cup chicken broth
1 cup diced chicken; (optional)
1/2 cup milk
Mix flour, salt and baking powder in a small bowl. Mix in melted butter, egg and enough milk to make a stiff dough. Turn out on floured surface, kneed and roll out 1/8" thick. Cut into 1x3" strips. Drop into boiling broth along with optional chicken if this is main dish. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Add milk to broth and let stand uncovered 2 to 3 minutes. Serve as side dish with fried or baked chicken.
