Nana' Puddin'

1 box (12 oz) vanilla wafers
4 large bananas; sliced
3/4 cup sugar
2 large eggs
2 tablespoon all purpose flour
2 1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 8 oz pkg Cool Whip; optional
Mix together sugar, egg, flour and milk in a medium saucepan. Stir over medium heat until boiling. Remove from heat after it thickens, add vanilla extract.
Layer bottom of 2qt casserole or 9x13 baking dish with vanilla wafers. Top with 2 sliced bananas. Pour 1/2 pudding mixture over, and top with vanilla wafers. Combine the remaining pudding and sliced bananas and stir to coat well. Spread over previous layer and top with wafers.
Refrigerate for at least one hour. Top with optional Cool Whip.
(use smaller bananas to leave room for Cool Whip in your dish)
