1/4 cup butter
1 cup flour
3/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk
1 21 oz can fruit pie filling

Place butter in 8x8" baking dish in a 375°F oven to melt while oven preheats. Combine remaining dry ingredients; add milk and mix. Pour mixture into the baking dish; fold in fruit.

Bake at 375°F for 30 minuites.

Subst: 3 cups fresh fruit for the canned; use peach, blueberry, blackberry or cherry (increase sugar to 1-1/4cup if cherries are tart)

The crust will rise to the top and the fruit will settle on the bottom

(used 2 Tablespoons of baking powder by accident and it still came out good)
