Granny Mc's Pecan Pie

Granny Mc's Pecan Pie

1 1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 each butter; sticks
1 1/2 cup karo syrup; white
3 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 each cinnamon; dashes
1 3/4 cup pecans; broken
5 each eggs
2 each 9 pie shells; deep dish

Mix sugar and syrup; beat eggs and mix with sugar & syrup. Add all other ingredients except pecans, mix well. Break pecans into small bits and sprinkle evenly in the bottom of the pie shells. Pour the filling over the pecans.

Preheat oven to 350 deg and bake on lowest rack just until set, approx 45-60 min.

(This makes enough filling for 2 deep dish pies; 3 reg crust; or 24 party size pies. Cook party size pies no longer than 45min.)

Subst: granola cereal (grape nuts) for the pecans to make a mock pecan pie.
