Sumter Work Enterprises is a sheltered workshop for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and head and spinal cord injuries. In the common language of our agency we call Sumter Work Enterprises our Adult Program.
At this workshop the individuals are taught job skills with the ultimate goal of obtaining independent employment within the community.
Sumter Work Enterprises includes two spacious work areas consisting of over 10,000 square feet. The workshop contracts with several area businesses where we perform such tasks as small parts assembly and sub assembly, bulk mailings, recycling, etc. No job is too small or insignificant.
We also have an in-house contract which involves heavy machine operation. In this contract we grind contaminated needles for an area business which is a major supplier of medical supplies nationwide. Sumter Work Enterprises employs over forty staff members who provide training to the individuals as well as quality control for our customers. All of our staff members are dedicated to doing the job right the first time.
Sumter Work Enterprises also offers other services to our community. We currently house three mobile lawn crews who provide simple lawn maintenance for area businesses as well as residential customers.
We also house several janitorial crews who travel to area businesses and residences to provide cleaning services. Many of our area businesses take advantage of these services and have been pleased with the quality of the work performed.
Sumter Work Enterprises is dedicated to providing quality services at the lowest price possible. We are not limited to the jobs mentioned above. We always welcome the opportunity to expand our area of service and are open to new ideas. If you have a job that needs to be done, please give us a try!
