Another great album by the great Al. While most of this album includes songs that would be considered 'average' when compared to Al's other greats, the album does include a few enduring favorites: Like A Surgeon, Dare To Be Stupid, One More Minute, Yoda, and This Is The Life.
Firsts on this album include Al's first song written for a movie, This Is The Life. It also includes Al's first fully-developed and fully-recognizable 'style parody'; the title track is a direct style parody of Devo.
Another interesting thing about this album is the song Like A Surgeon, which marks the first and only time Al has accepted someone else's idea for a parody. Al does not do this anymore for both legal and moral reasons so PLEASE don't give him any ideas!
While half of the album is 'average' lyrically, the album is nicely varied in themes. If Al had to go back and redo an album, this would be the one I hope he would do: go back and elaborate more on the songs that didn't have enough 'spark' to them. But overall, the album is worthy.
