Notes

1. Please try to keep your speed slow, between 7-10 wpm max. Slower is better to

encourage slow ops to join us.

2. Don’t be afraid to ask/tell people to QRS if they are too fast.

3. If you can’t hear a station trying to QNI send "QSP any?"

4. Always handle any through traffic first before handling net reports.

5. It is best to handle through traffic early so if there’s a problem with propagation

you can help relay assuming you heard both stations ok.

6. If you have traffic listed and you have a number of stations on the net, you can

can/should send the "traffic stations" off frequency to pass the traffic while other

stations are being dismissed. This means no one has to wait so long.

Example: a net report from ANH to SKX has been listed, so after check-ins

ncs: K8SKX

skx: R (acknowledge)

ncs: W4ANH

anh: R (ack)

ncs: QNK K8SKX 1 DN 2

note receive station first then send station

they will move down 2kz or so, receive station will call send station

to pass the traffic, then move back to net frequency and check back

in by just sending SKX or ANH.

7. Reps to other nets will QNI with /B or /C after their call. B is Carolina Net

Early (18-23wpm) or CN Late (15-18wpm). /C is the NC Evening Net (SSB

Traffic)

Net Report:

These are sent in NTS format and include date of net, #QNI, #QTC listed/passed,

QND (time in minutes) and QNS (list of stations usually in order of QNI starting with the ncs)

example:

NR 3 R W4ANH 19 MC/A NC FEB 9

K8SKX

CSN MON FEB 7 QNI

7 QTC 1/1 QND 26

QNS W4ANH/A K8SKX W4DLO/1/1 KJ4BUQ

WS4P KD4IMA W4NTO 73

W4ANH AR N

explanation: 7 check-ins

1 message listed / 1 message passed

net lasted 26 minutes,

w4anh was NCS

w4dlo listed one message and passed one message

MC/A is Jim’s QTH abbreviated for ease: Mcadenville
